Two engine codes on 72 charger vin?

What's the deal with two engine codes on a VIN? 72 Charger we just brought home.

Well no it isn’t what you say. The 5th digit is the engine and the seventh digit is the build plant.

Just happens that they are both G, however one is for 318 and next for St Louis. Assembly Plant.
