V code 1970 Road Runner

Are all V- code 1970 Road Runners, ( 5th digit of VIN is V), always 440-6 cars? I have one that came unassembled and is non-numbers matching but all the parts are with car. Dash VIN matches core support stamp and trunk stamp under deck weather strip. Can not find a number on dana but engine and 18 spline trans are from a '71 six pack car. Just want to be sure this thing is the real deal. Thanks for any info / clarity.

Yes the engine digit for a 6 pack dodge/ 6 barrel Plymouth is V on a 1970.

Yes, it's a six pack car.....and "maybe"....just maybe the transmission is original if it's a very late 70 car. The VIN should also be stamped on the transmission too.

I'm not sure about the 70, but on the 69 you would also see numbers on the radiator support bracket. Mine was stamped on the upper bracket,drivers side facing the motor.

Trans and engine are from a ‘71 six pack car I’m told. 18 spline w/ pistol grip shifter and hp1 six pack engine. I think Dana is original to car but can’t find #’s. I will try to post photos soon as I figure out how.

71 440 made it $4X,*** instead of $60k+
Track Pack Dana 60, 18 spline 4 speed (now 833 is a spare, Passon Performance a855 direct swap in-It's great!)
