Is regular two part high build primer okay to use on valve covers or should i go with engine primer. Just worried about how hot they get. Thanks

I sandblasted my valve covers and shot them with the original blue mopar paint. no primer and they looked amazing. still look great 2 years later.

first coat was thin layer then went thicker until i hit 6 coats.

The other guys might have a different opinion this is just my experience.

Thank you. Got a few small imperfections i wanna fill that are not deep enough for putty. I shot it with a few coats of regular primer but rather use the high build 2 part but dont want it to peel..

I also didn't use any primer on mine. just stripped them down a sprayed with high heat paint.
If I were to use primer, it would be hi temp.

You can get a tube of spot putty. It is real thick primer that can be used with a plastic spreader to fill in small pits and scratches..............................MO
