My buddy is building a 73 challenger he’s looking for a vapor separator but can’t find one. Is it needed? My 71 roadrunner doesn’t have one from factory. He doesn’t plan on putting a charcoal canister
Any ideas on how to vent it without a separator?Just depends on what he is doing. 73 they are mounted on the shock cross member. He can do away with it but he needs to vent the tank somehow.
Your 71 RR came with one in the rear of the left rear fender well.

The reference to a charcoal canister indicates we talking about a fuel tank vapor seporator, if that's the case, your '71 did indeed leave the factory with one.My 71 roadrunner doesn’t have one from factory. He doesn’t plan on putting a charcoal canister
Won't see one in there it is covered by a metal shield and located in the wheel well..Interesting stuff - thanks. I've never owned a '71 so I had no idea about this. Another reason why I really enjoy this site - very informative. Now I'll be peeking in '71 trunks at the next car show...
