Like the post says. Is there a way to ascertain the vin number from the service order number. I have a ‘68 Charger shell that is missing the dashboard with the vin tag. I would like to get ownerships for it but.

What about the driver's trunk lip? Is that the SO number or partial VIN?

Good Luck.... Supposedly the NCIC has that info in their data base... But they won't release it in a helpful way... They will release it for prosecution but not to help you avoid prosecution....

Beyond that the Broadcast sheet or the original window sticker will tie the VIN to the VON....

the state will issue a new VIN if one cannot be found, if, you are really that ambitious to put that back on the road

the way that car was stripped would lead me to believe theres probably a 318 1968 charger out there thats now an R/T charger....

Long story short buddy went away for work and left his car in the yard. Came back to that. This was early eighties.

The only thing I know that ties those two numbers together is the IBM punch card. Unfortunately unavailable from Chrysler Historical on post '67 cars. As One Wild RT said, I think the build sheet has both numbers, too, if you can find one.
