Thought that would get your attention! First time at street races with a 4 speed. Has a line lock, 3.55 Sure Grip, 255/70/15s. No prep allowed, just water if you want it. Grudge racing. Any advice ? Have not launched this car hard yet, don't know what it will tolerate. Veteran stick guys, chime in ! This is legal, by the way. On private property.

I assume it is street tires {?}

don't launch at much more than 2500 rpm max
it will just spin

floor it after it's moving, grab 2nd quick & let it pull
won't 60ft the best but won't waste even more time just spinning
I doubt you even need to go into 4th until slowing down
let her ride in 3rd, until it starts to drop off (or rpm limit)
with that tire & gear ratio, unless it spins a ton
in 1st & 2nd, than you may need 4th about 1200ft "maybe"

if you know how to use the line lock,
than use it
if not;
practice with it until you do know how
that way you can use the throttle & clutch, 2 feet separate
not have to goofy foot it with the right foot on the throttle
& rt heel on the brake, trying to hold it in place
& dump or slip the clutch

try to match your shift 2nd to 3rd at about 200-300 rpms
below the shift points/rev/rpm limits
that way you won't float the valves either

don't brake anything

good luck, have fun

You got to get the car out and play with it. Every car is different so only you will know how to launches ,shift points, how much heat in the motor,trans,tires. Find a back road and beat the piss right out of it, that what their for,lol. Have fun.
