Want to swap out 2 barrel for 4 barrel on 68 Belvedere 273

its not a hard job and 318 alum intakes bolt right on.
if i recall,a couple of the bolt holes are angled,a few seconds with a file will fix that.

grab a Gasket kit, usually a full gasket set will be best, then you have the rest for another time.
the Catch will be the accelerator cable And the transmission Kickdown setup, which will be different for 2bbl vs 4bbl.
on a small cube motor like that, try an edelbrock carb 600cfm.
check your local CL listings, both items should be easy to find.

the cables and kickdown setup can be had thru Bouchillon performance.
if you drain the block/lower hose all the way,you shouldnt have any issues.
while you have the old intake off, spin the pushrods in their respective places and check for warp and give the cam a good eyeball and hey, hows the Timing chain looking?
slack?...never been changed?

Yes, find a 318 4-barrel intake. The 340/360 intakes will bolt up, but with larger ports, 1/2 your intake fuel/air flow slams up against the sides of the smaller 273 ports. You might even look for an old Competition Series Carter (now Edelbrock) 500 cfm carb or maybe even a 390 cfm Holley. Bigger isn't always better....so go NO MORE than 600 cfm and go smaller on the carb if you can find a good one.

Also, ChinStokes makes a really good point about the throttle & kickdown linkages. Maybe you can find something on the car you get the intake from?
