I did a quick search and didn't find a thread about the things we find in our cars when we rip them apart to restore them or refurb the interior. One of my favorite things to do is take an old car that's never been apart and dig into it. This last car I tore down is the 67 R/T. Off the road since 1980 and never apart. Other than a few gum wrappers, coins, and an ice scrapper it was pretty uneventful, until I took the dash out. When I took the dash out as an assembly some 1960/70's condoms fell out from somewhere. It wasn't in the ash tray or glove box, it's like they were stashed or something. Anyway, thought I would share.

What did you find in your car?

Anyone know how old these are? Somebody got lucky, one left in the two pack.

When I was twelve my dad gave me a 74 Gremlin to drive around the farm.
One of his friends gave it to him to even up a $100 debt.
Car was a rustbucket but in the back I found half a dozen Hustler magazines. Good score for a twelve your old.

When I was 15 we bought a 75 Camper Special Chevy 454 home from an auction.
Under the seat was a half carton of Marlboros and a few M-80s Also a good score for a delinquent farm boy.

i pulled 9 mouse nests out of a car
does that count as treasure? :fool:

When I bought mine I found a personal check in the glove box for $16,000.

there was a thread but like most of our older threads they disappear:drama::popcorn:

a fob from the previous owner.
he hasn't returned contact

Under the rotted spare tire was an old 60s mopar oil filter still in the box, and under the backseat was a Nixon/Agnew button..

.38 revolver stashed under a seat spring ! I ? The old owner without saying anything to see if it was his or prev it was his he stuck it there 20 years prior when he got grandkids in his house . I returned it to him he was happy I was honest he forgot all about it ! I did offer to just pay him for it ! He said it was his sons that was shot police officer so it had some meaning to it .
Since then he passed and his wife called me and asked if I would come over. He told her to give the gun to me . So it is in the safe now I don't use it as I have one already that was my uncles nypd . But I told her I would take care of it!

6 pack of Billy beer in the trunk under parts kid was probably hiding it .

Condoms (used)

$50

Some snap on tools

Under the backseat of the first 70 Charger I ever owned,I found a full stack of hardcore porno mags! I was 16 years old at the time, but I never looked at them though! Honest!

I bought a 66 charger, got it running and drove it around just working an the machanicals of it at first. After I had it for a couple years I started to work on the intierier. When I pulled the console apart I found a pint of Tennessee yelowstone bourbon that had never been opened. Still have it but it’s been opened now .

streetwedg, if the name of the whisky was" yellowstone" it was distilled in my hometown, Owensboro Ky. traded for an old wrecked GTX once, glove box was locked, pried it open and found a full bottle of strawberries, or speckled birds as some called them, things went along pretty quick for about three weeks. In my buddies ‘71 Super Bee, we pull the front buckets. The carpet is covered in pot seeds. This is back in the late ‘70’s when that would get you a possession rap in Canada.
Found cooler stuff restoring my old house.

I've buried a treasure in my car but I damn sure haven't found any in it.

a big bag of weed and another of seeds . car had been sitting for years before we pull it apart ,and sure enough had up next to the dash there they were

Bought a 65 Ply Belv. A few days ago. Just wanted the trans, rear-end and the emblems.
Started digging around backseat and found someones stash. Was told car has'nt been driven for over 25 years. . Kinda kool, old school !

Found a vintage craftsman elusive 10mm socket.

The name and address of the original owner on a slip of paper found when I removed the dash. I sent them a letter on a hunch that they still lived in the same house. Hey presto they did. They wrote back and gave me a whole heap of history on the car. Excellnt find.

When I bought my 71 gxt it had Texas plates. The carpet was dry rot. When I pulled out the carpet I found only Mexican change. Couple bucks.
