I detect that you have become bored with your RR so you should just sell it to ME! I will put the PLYMOUTH on the rear and if you don't like it you can post how crappy it looks and no worries! Sounds like a good idea to me.

 I'm just getting done restoring her, all I have to do is finish the interior! Bored? I can't get enough of this hobby! lol!

You have something there that hundreds of mopar guys would love to own.

Don’t change anything on that car, it’s beautiful.
And forget the colored headlights too.

No.

I had a friend do that on his red 69 Runner....many years ago. It just doesn't look right to me.....but then, it is your car. :)

Remember, the Road Runner was built as a poor man's Hot Rod.....few frills, and plenty of go.

It depends on whether you want to hear "ooooh" or "hahaha" when you drive for a show.

Hey Guys,

I was thinking about my 69 RR and what else I could do to the outside. I was thinking of putting the work "PLYMOUTH" on the rear quarters like the superbird. What do you think about this idea, cool or lame?

Car looks great if you really want to do something I would say space out the rear wheels since they look like they go deep inside . I am working on doing that on mine since I also like to change my car up once in a while also I had the white Plymouth lettering and took it off it looks cleaner without it

I know I'm the oddball but I would think about doing a ghost PLYMOUTH on the quarters

I never thought of that, I don't know, everyone seems to think it would be to much and I agree, but that's a good idea.

It’s a silly idea on an original stock muscle car. If I was shopping for a car I would pass it by if it had ghost painted features and wrong stickers on the paint. Doesn’t belong on that car at all.

As said hundreds of mopar guys would love to own that car as it sits. If you want to do mods like that sell this stock car and buy some thing different.

Like a good looking person that gets face tattoos, doesn’t belong there and where do you stop?

what do you think guys in the 60's & 70's did when these cars were new or a few years old. they did what we now think is stupid or ugly to personalize them. my question is how many cars do we need that are returned to stock? why can't some be made as "Day 2" versions? especially if he never plans on selling it.

Not all cars need to be customized I think the b bodies are one of those few cars that look good stock.
There’s many cars that can and need the mods but the b bodies look fantastic on stock form or with a few tasteful mods but don’t overdo it because then it looks cheap

can never go wrong looking classic

This is 2022 and that car is stock right now. Leave it alone.

I'm the odd man out here - I've always thought the Plymouths had too much wide open space on the side and wish they offered them stock with a stripe or decal option like the Dodges had. I like the Plymouth logo on the rear quarter as long as it's not too big. The size on the yellow car earlier in the thread looks great to me, stock or not!

At least the Plymouth GTX had the black/red stripe down low along the entire car length to break it up a bit.

On my 68, I never liked the 68 hood blackout only between the engine callouts, so I painted mine 69 black stripe style since the hoods are identical.

Its not stock underneath, it has all upgraded suspension with Qa1 k member and control arms with disk brakes.

Some of used to think that models and names were put on so the owner wouldn’t forget what he drove.
I have seen 66-7 Chargers with Charger on the flanks, to me that body style tells you what it is.
Your car build it your way and don’t worry.
I also didn’t believe in the theory that jacking up the back end would give better mileage because you were going down hill. Very poor idea if you lived in the snow belt and drove on gravel roads.
