They look almost like blue jean rivets.

As far as a tool... you just need a hammer and solid steel surface like an anvil or vise.

Thanks guys, that put me on enough youtube videos to get a feel for each type of rivet even.. Just like anything, you can make a project out of anything if you want.. Or just try to smash the things with a hammer..
