The torque converter in my '73 Charger is bad. I'm thinking of replacing the 727 with a manual transmission. If we don't worry about cost, gears, or fit, and only focus on driving experience, how would you describe the experience of driving of a A-833 vs a TKO-600?
I'm asking because I have never driven an old school 4 speed. I'm suspecting it would hard to find and then test drive an old school Mopar 4 speed. But I have driven a T-56 6 speed in a '04 GTO. I'm thinking that the Tremec would be 'too smooth' of an experience and would take away from the old school experience; kinda like putting in a modern Hemi in an old school car. I'm imagining the A-833 is a loud and clunky and goes into a gear like a truck. Is that far off?
