What is this connector for behind the dash???

Hello everyone,
I am undoing all of the rigged up wiring and accessories that my 65 Satellite has accumulated over the years. Upon my journey I found this large, heavy wire, connector behind the heater control panel area. It has a bunch of screws rammed into it. What is it and should I take the screws out and wrap it up a little safer?

So all 7 of those are vacuum lines and not wires? I'm not with the car right now so I can go out and look closer.

Only one of those hoses has vacuum in it. The others go out to the blend door actuators. The place to disconnect it is on the intake manifold.
