Hello everyone,
I'm replacing the transmission mount in my 65 satellite 727. The mount in my car is different then the mount that all the parts stores say I have. Please see the pictures and hopefully tell me what mount I need to buy.

2 pics of my mount and 1 pic of the new mount that everyone says that I should have.

That's what I thought but even looking up earlier years shows the same mount or this one. Not the one I need.

Your looking at three styles the 66 to 67 used a single bottom bolt which does not last try joe suchi or Jim Kramer or mancini racing or rock auto

When I bought my Satellite it had the single bolt style with very slight elongated on the holes that mount to the tail shaft housing. It is fine. Not sure about the later model version and which trans crossmember is needed for that. On my '65 Coronet I switched from the 4 spd to a 727. The single bolt style also needed elongation on the mount to work on the 4 spd X member.

Edit: On my Coronet I ran the single bolt version on my drag car for a few thousand runs low 12's down to 10.5. Never broke one.

So I can make the single bolt version work? That would be way cheaper! I just need to elongate the holes? Are they the same height? Mine looks like it's toast in my picture, the trans side bracket is sitting on the crossmember, no gap, metal to metal.

I have a pic of the 2 side by side, but won't load ...:BangHead:

Short answer, no. They're radically different.

the 62-65 mount is different than the mount to install a later 66 up transmission in the 62-65 cars. The later mount is taller and the tail shaft bolt spacing is closer together.

Well, rats! Anyone know of a cheaper mount than the $130 one from Mancini Racing?

It's crazy that the mount I got was $10 but the one I need is $130! Lol.
