What wheel bearing grease to use. Ngli 2 or 3?

What grease would yall choose? Ngli 2 or 3. Ngli no. 3 is the quaker stake which is brown and thick. Ngli no.2 is the modern crisco consistency.
It is for a 72 charger disc brake k member

NLGI 2 is the grade normally used on wheel bearings automotive wise.

NLGI 3 is heavier, I wouldnt recommend it for wheel bearings, it's a bit much, and will not flow as well. It is a heavier pressure grease; larger, heavy duty bearings--heavy truck etc, good, fifth wheel plates, etc, good.

Intermodal container chassis are the largest heavy truck segment that still runs grease packed wheel bearings. Shell Gadus NLGI-2 seems to be the most commonly used.

Amsoil has some great wheel grease and what's nice is that it doesn't allow heat from the brakes to soak into the bearings.

Personally, I prefer a NLGI #2 ( National Lubricating Grease Institute) Synthetic such as Mobil 1

To me PRICE IS NOT A CONSIDERATION......I want the best lubricant for the Timken (ONLY) Tapered Wheel Bearings on my car.......AFTER experiencing a front outer wheel bearing failure on my old commuting vehicle, a Ford Galaxie with Drum brakes, where the entire wheel, tire, brake drum assembly departed the vehicle at speed......the spindle, spindle bearing retaining nut, bearing twisted off ......what a ride......but to each his own volition......

I have a question - can synthetic grease and regular grease be mixed?
In other words, if I'm going to add some - I'll use synthetic grease but there's already the regular grease in there.

Ask the lubricant supplier (brand) to check on the compatibility of mixing synthetic and non synthetic lubricants.....seek AUTHORITATIVE SOURCES RATHER THAN RELYING ON HEARSAY OR GUESSES OR "My Buddy says" ......BOB RENTON
