My oil pressure used to run at 60 when the 318 engine was stock.
Now the gauge pegs over 80
would having it bored .30 over have anything to do with higher oil pressure?

Also when I start it the temp goes way up in only a few minutes and the water in the radiator is still cold.

I am wondering if I'm having a gauge issue because the gas gauge reads full also and it only has half a tank of gas.

Being bored 30 over has nothing to do with oil pressure. Sounds like a gauge issue.

Probably a gauge issue, but the water in the rad will remain relatively cool until the stat opens up.

The overbore has nothing to do with it per se. Did you have a new oil pump put in at a rebuild? The bearings may be renewed and different (no grooves?).

You instrument voltage regulator could be off; it feeds all 3 meter circuits (oil, water & gas). High water temp would mean a high regulator voltage.

I did put a new oil pump in when I rebuilt it, also new bearings.
I am going back into the dash soon to install a new dimmer switch because I have no dash lights and I think the switch may be the problem.
I think I will replace the voltage limiter then.
