I have a wierd/strange water pump pulley that has an internal spacer spot welded on the inside of the mounting surface. Has original orange paint (unknown origin and don't know what it came off of ? Could be slant 6, 318, 340, 383, 400, 440 ? Measures 2.75 tall and 5.75 O.D.
Is this something common that Mopar did by adding spacers to make it more versatile for different engine options ?

Thanks

Never saw one with a spacer or anything welded to the inside.

Sounds like something off a Kabota mower deck.

We need pictures!

That looks like a factory Mopar water pump pulley, but the spacer is not. Somebody added the spacer to correct an alignment issue. The factory would not use a spacer like that, a spacer should include the bolt holes.
