Wondering if anybody has used one of the front disc brake conversion kits from www.getdiscbrakes.com and if they will fit behind the 14 inch Rally wheels on my 70 Roadrunner. Have included photos. Have factory power 4 wheel drum brakes.
Thanks

Thanks

That depends on the rotor size.

See the link for a kit that certainly will fit: http://www.doctordiff.com/10.95-front-disc-brake-kit.html

According to the link, "10.95 front disc brake... is the largest OEM-style brake package that fits 14" disc brake spec wheels."

You can buy the proper power disc brake booster kit (includes linkage and firewall plate) from Piratejack's for $383. You might ask Cass at Doctordiff if he will price match.

I ordered a front disc brake kit from Cass at Dr. Diff just last week, got the parts the other day. He uses The Right Stuff in his kits so it's comparable to what you're looking at. I like Dr. Diff because Cass picks up the phone every time; I just called him today with a question and he helped me out and then e-mailed me a link of someone who had taken pics of an install using his kit. I picked up the 11.75 kit so I can't specifically answer your question about the 14" rims. Another source is Wayne at The Ram Man - great website with videos. He's a little harder to get on the phone. Good luck!

I posted the photos from my installation but I doubt you would need them; it's pretty simple.

Well, I thought I had posted the photos but couldn't find the post. So, here you go for front and rear conversion. The link is to the Pirate Jack booster kit install.

Well I did find a front disc brake kit that is supposed to fit behind stock Rally wheels. It is the Stage 1 kit from Dr. Diff (www.doctordiff.com). A reproduction of the factory disc brakes. Paid just over a grand for everything, the kit (drilled/slotted rotors; painted calipers), MC/Booster, brake lines, combination dist block/prop valve and braided/stainless hoses.
Will post photos when it all arrives as well as photos during the actual conversion. Hopefully it will help someone else who tries to do a conversion with 14" wheels.

File photos from the Dr. Diff web site;
