What is the installed height of the windshield ? The windshield on my car appears to be about 1/4" below surrounding structure. I have not tried installing the trim, but it looks like there would be a significant gap between the glass and trim.

I believe there's a block that goes under it to hold it center when it gets mounted the bottom will have more room for forgiveness with that big strip . I can mesure my glass tomorrow I have one out in the shed

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has information or measurements regarding my question. Does the windshield have to be even with the surrounding structure to properly install the trim ? I will be removing my windshield in the near future to replace my dash and would like to reinstall the windshield correctly when done. Previous owner put it in with clear silicone, which just squished flat to the A pillar.
      Thanks

I'll try to get pics of my 72 (I think my 73 is the same, too) today, but BB70 is correct.

Are your hard rubber spacers there?

I do not have any rubber blocks under the glass. The PO installed the windshield with clear silicone which squeezed flat to the mounting area of the a-pillar. The windshield, as it is right now, is about 3/8 on an inch below outside a-pillar height. I would think that the windshield would be even with the outside a-pillar height, so that the trim will be even and flat against the windshield.
      Thanks

The rubber setting blocks set the height of the glass (installed at bottom edge of glass)

The butyl tape sets the depth of glass.
