Best tip is. If you can catch a scratch with a finger nail, forget it. New Glass Time. Ask me how I know.

I used 2k to 3k grit sand paper followed by a heavy duty rubbing compound, then a polish to remove the shallow hazy scratches that were in my RR door glass caused by worn out window sweeps. It improved things a bunch, but there are still deep scratches as 68chicken stated, but the windows are not hazy any more. As always, before you use any thing like I did, test it on a small area first. Also, I always clay bar my windows once a year as you can see from the video above, glass holds a lot of gunk!!, then I usually just wax them to keep em looking nice.

Clay bar on glass? That is interesting. I would have never thought of that!

It makes so much sense, I feel like I should kick myself for not thinking of it first.

Soapy water and very fine steel wool will do a great job also for cleaning.
Way back when a buddy of mine worked at a car wash/detailing joint and that's how they did it.

Thanks for all of the great ideas and info. Keep it coming, I wasn't able to look for anything this weekend because I was tied up. But will look this week. I'm wanting to work on the rear windshield as I replaced the front with a new one. I have a spare rear one but I want to see if I can get away with not replacing it if posible
