Has anyone relocated thier wiper motor to under the dash? Just trying to clean up firewall.
Which Toyota wiper motor did you you use? And if you have more pictures, it would be appreciated. Want to do the same thing to mine. Here is a photo of the wiper motor mounted. Not the best photo sorry. I will see if I can find some more. View attachment 360743
Haha, I knew someone would ask me this. The model vehicle is a 1996 Toyota Hiace, unfortunately these were not sold in the US. You can use any wiper motor and modify bracket to mount. I also had to modify the short arm that attaches to the motor spindle as it was different from the original.Which Toyota wiper motor did you you use? I don't think moving the wiper motor inside really looks as clean as people think unless you reshaped the firewall to look as though it was never there in the first place. I contemplated all of this before starting my build. I wasn't going to relocate the wiper motor unless I was going to do it all, including moving the master cylinder and smoothing the shock towers. I decided that it just wasn't worth the work. It created more mexhanical challenges just for appearance. I decided to leave the wiper motor, master cylinder, and shock towers and just get rid of all the electrical garbage. The wires and AC hoses will all be hidden under the fenders.
I have a ford fox body wiper motor here that both small and inexpensive. You might look at those.Anyone else have any feedback or recommendations of readily available/common cars to use the wiper motor from?
