Hello all: been researching the site but still have questions? Just registered today.
I own 1966 dodge coronet 500. Wipers sort of worked when l got the car, now nothing...
Pulled wiper switch 2820525 2 speed switch and power connector (pink)burnt. Took switch apart, cleaned up,reassembled. Tested switch according to factory service manual. Switch no good. Then l proceeded to wiper motor. Appears to be brand new. Motor number 2770147 which shows as a 3 speed/variable but correct for car. Unplugged 4 pin connector from motor and tested in car.
Brass ground strap is new and connected.
Tested motor according to service manual, have high speed but no low speed or park function from testing.

These replacement parts are expensive to replace nowadays.
I could order the correct switch 2770378, for this motor,l do have electric washers, but not sure if the wiper motor needs new parts or rebuild now as well?
Any thoughts on possible direction moving forward would be gladly appreciated before l spend big dollars to actually get the system to function.
In the meantime, l was thinking of running power to the high speed terminal on wiper motor to a toggle switch to at least have wiper function if l get caught in rain.
Would this temporary plan work without further damage?
I am aware a 2 speed switch is NOT compatible with this motor.
On a side note, the plug to switch is 4 blade.
The other 3 terminals have nothing plugged in?
Am l missing maybe a 2 blade wiring plug to these unused terminals?
I truly believe the car originally had a 2 speed switch and the motor was upgraded not knowing the switch should have been changed to match.

The arm that goes from the motor to the linkage is different between the 2-speed and 3-speed. Figure out which way you are going to go and get the appropriate compatible parts. As far as testing, I can't help you there.

2820525 is a 67 one year switch. Maybe its not compatible on the 66?

Thanks. Guess l will have to pull the motor to see what's in there. More part numbers to figure out

Looks to me like 66 had a single speed and the variable speed motors. 67 had a two speed and variable speed motor. What are you using for a manual to diagnose your problems? To me it looks like you have some incompatible parts. Here is 66 wiring at the switch.

If you can't get it working right away, rainx on the windshield will get you through most rain storms.

I believe you are onto something here. My switch 2820525 is a 2 speed switch from 1967 a/b body. I do have the 66 service manual like above. The above switch has same terminal 7 blade as the variable speed switch for 66 2770378 which matches up to wiper motor 2770147. Hence my confusion. I haven't had the cluster out yet but l only seem to have the 4 wire plug to switch, nothing going to F1/F2 and bottom terminal not used as 4 speed car.
Any idea regarding the wiper motor with only testing fine on high speed but no low speed or park function? If l acquire the correct switch, not sure if wiper motor needs attention as well.
Thank you for input so far

Get a bunch of jumper wires and run the bench test on the motor.
