I am building a LR431 and the pistons I want (Ross 99894) have 1.094 pins, alot of the 6.76 rods use .990 pins. Is there a real difference in the 2?
Kinda like to get the pistons tomorrow from Summit as I have an exclusive 20% offer that expires tomorrow, That $100 off.

The main reason for the 990 is weight savings in a performance application.

Ok, I did see a 13 gram weight difference. Makes sense, I am just looking for a streetable fun engine, not a race car so for my application won't make a big difference......Thanks....

If you are buying rods & pistons, they just need to be the same size.

Lighter is always better:icon_bounce:

Difference is a .990 pin is bb chevy size with many more piston options.

I am using the .990 pin in a 7.1 rod for my 440/512 build. Also has 2.20 rod journal. The benefit of the BBC rod journal is accessibility to .001+- bearings. I wish someone made Chrysler 440 main bearings in .001+- sizes for ease of building.
