I'll apologize in advance for what's probably a dumb question. I started assessing a refresh on my current 906 heads. Costs quickly got to the point I was thinking I should look at aftermarket aluminum heads. I'd need springs that accommodate .520 lift. That seems not to be a problem. The fact that I've a solid flat tappet cam seems a problem. I don't find any catalog offerings for this. The closest I find is for hydraulic flat tappet. Is there some reason you can't run a solid lifter cam with aluminum heads, or is the demand so low the manufacturers just don't mess with it?
This is a car that I just take to a few nostalgia events during the season. (the car is in the photo you see to the left here above my forum name) Don't wish to bear the cost to replace the entire valvetrain. That figure puts me back at doing the 906's. Thanks in advance for your comments.
