Looking for recomendations on plug wires. I don't race it but I do want a good spiral core wire and good fitment and not a foot too long. I run stock manifolds. Chime in please.
Thanks

These come with a crimping tool. Cut them to whatever lenth you want. Look through all of them for straight, 90*, bendable ends or buy the wire and boots separate with the crimper. Also different color wires, different size wire and boots are available.

Replying to my own post...

:bs_flag: Every time you install them and remove them from a plug they open up and are loose. Then you have to squeeze the connector to get them to hold again. I checked everyone for a good "click" before doing a 20 min cam break-in, and two of them popped off near the end of the run. These go in the trash!

I just returned to Summit Racing the MSD wires set. No way these can fit as the straight boot will not clear the center plugs.

I emailed Firecore with a few questions last week, but no reply?

I'm assuming this is the correct (fitting) set for my 383 Road Runner?

I'm trying to figure out their order options also. What's the difference between "pro fit" and "stock"? Are the "pro fit" for header applications?

I thought I saw "stock" somewhere? They sell a "pf-1001" and a "pf-1002".

If you have a stock cap, you want the PF-1002. The PF-1001 are for an HEI cap.

I asked Mancini for best stock fit and they sold me some MOROSO wires. All but two wires were good, I called MOROSO for extra boots and terminals and made the adjustments.

I've sent emails to MSD, Firecore, and Summit Racing asking about plug wires and recommendations on July 5th. Only Summit has replied, so far (today, July 13th). Here is the Summit reply:

Can't answer why you are not getting a response but I like the firecore wires I bought

Yes, I wonder why Firecore will not reply. I even called them twice and left messages and my cell phone number. NADA reply.

The above was posted by kryslerkid. I've used these many times. This is absolutely the best way to get wires exactly as you want them to be.

+1 on the MSD multi-angle as stated by kryslerkid and Rick62. I used these on my 400 with aluminum heads and stock HP manifolds. Issue I found was aftermarket assume your using headers and wires are designed to go over valve covers instead of around. Too short to run like stock. That set you can cut to length and have boot anywhere from straight to 90 degree bend. i also bought the set with the HEI connectors since I have an aftermarket distributor.

Firecore are good but way too pricey, (just my opinion there! Don't thrash me!):mob:
And their real benefit (to me)is that they are custom booted and cut to the lengths you need, which if you aren't comfortable doing it is a good way to go, but like others have said it's near impossible to get any pre-made wires to fit how YOU want them to. I've tried some others but always go back to Taylors, but I gave in and bought a (reasonably priced)crimper years ago so I could custom fit as needed....it's really really easy. The MSDs included crimping tool is a small plastic block you squeeze in a vise, not as good as a regular crimper :mob:
My opinion it's just a good tool to have in the arsenal...
