    Tach no workee.

I contacted MSD tech support and was told I needed a 8132 Signal Generator. I looked it up and it is described for use with a magneto style ignition system, which is not what I have. The 8920 appears to be correct for my needs but, I want to be sure of proper wiring before I drop another 'C'...

Flowmaster American Thunder Super 40 vs. Pypes Street pro exhaust

I have no comparative analysis to offer, Just wanted to say that 2 1/2" pipe is too large for a mild 318. 2" would be a better match (dual). Too large a pipe slows the exhaust velocity and results in a power loss. Mike

Ammeter bypass (or whatever you call it)

All the current from the alternator passes through the contacts at the bulkhead connector. As the brass wire terminals in the connector age/corrode/become loose from vibration, they become more resistant to electricity flow and that causes heat. With enough heat the connector can melt/fires can...

'65 Belvedere tail panel trim, is it anodized?

I purchased a gallon of anodize remover online but, many have said Easy Off oven cleaner will do the job. It did take me more than one application to get the anodizing completely off. This can be tested as you proceed by sanding, looking for the bare aluminum "gray" slurry that indicates...

'65 Belvedere tail panel trim, is it anodized?

All the aluminum trim is anodized. If you want to polish it just remove the anodize. I used Ever Brite after polishing mine to prevent corrosion. Mike

your opinion on Sealed power bearings?

I used Diamond Power brand from E-Bay. Very cheap but, professionally packaged, looked and spec'd good. Made in India but, they do build 100s of thousands of cars there. I couldn't find any other rod bearings for my 2008 3.8 V-6 so I ordered a set and have 3-4 thousand miles on so far (it's my...

    Tach no workee.

I recently had to replace my never used new Autometer Ultralite tachometer. Just started the car-no tach? What am I missing? I checked all continuities, The fuel pump speed control, tach, and Fast 2.0 all are tied to the MSD tach output. Only the tach does not work. Any guidance fellas. Mike

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

Oh ya, they took out the acid (probably replaced it with water). That's why it takes 24 instead of 1/2 hours to soak! I rinse them in my solvent tank and brush the pieces as I rinse. Mike
