Mike, looks great. I have a '66 I hope to get started on in 2017....damn, tomorrow. Wanting to do the same with getting rid of chrome trim on top ridge, makes the car look longer to me. NICE looking job you've done! Can you share you're procedure? Am looking for advice and would be thankful. Jim @ Gear Head Inn

I started at the rear. Sawzall'd the pinch weld fairly close to flush, then grind to acceptable levels.
I mig welded (butt welded) the seam.
I also only dId about 8 -10 inches at at time to keep the panels straight. The rear holes for the trim I just filled with weld.
Grind smooth and then kitty hair fiberglass, then Bondo smooth.
The doors and fenders were as simple as just plug welding the holes and grinding smooth.
