The drums were natural finish i know and the housing is black. But what color are the backing plates supposed to be? Getting conflicting info on the inter webs

They were a dull black phosphate coating... High heat BBQ paint simulates it well if ya wanna go the cheap route!

So the leaf springs are supposed to be natural finish as well? I always thought they were black

I have the leaf springs off the runner plus I have another set off of a 68 Sport Satellite 383 car. I think I may try to clean them up and try rebuilding them instead of spending what they are asking for repop nowadays.

What I did with my Bee and Swinger. Amazing what a new set of plastic wear plates and zinc interliners can do. I use to run about 40 psi in air shocks on the Bee to take the sag out. Rebuilt my springs in 2017, figured I still would need air shocks so installed a new pair and I have to run them with only 5psi just to keep the rubbers inflated and the *** end sits too high.
