As the title says, the more I read the more confused I am. I have the 440 Magnum emblems on my front fenders. The car is an original 440 car. This is correct right?

I can't say 100%, but don't believe so.
Here's a pic of my buddy's car, and again, not 100% sure it's correct. He added the hood if memory serves

Is iit an SE?

Some 440 SEs got the Magnum Emblem on fender, but not that one. A noticeable smaller one.

This would be the correct one on correct location (not good aligned thought ) in case it got it. I think is an early production deal

(hood on this car is of course not correct)

For what it is worth, it is an SE. Interesting, the plot thickens. Lol!

So the more I learn about the car, the more confused I am. As some of you know, the car came with a six pack on it and a six pack hood. Of course not original, but kinda neat. Also, the car had a respray about a month after purchase as it was keyed. So, I thinking that is a lie, and the car was hit He must have scored a totaled 71 six pack car and added the hood and six pack? Then used his old 440 Magnum emblems on the fenders? Hard to say really. I think I'll leave it alone for now.

I see they are all over the place on the inntrs-net,

hard to see in the brochure but appear to be in line with the wheel opening

Item 3 in the parts manual shows them for a 72 SE.

The info I have says that there were 755 1972 SE Chargers made with the 440. Since the SE comes with the flat hood, there is no place to put the engine call outs on the hood and they placed them on the fenders.

Definitely an interesting topic.

That's what the FSM says, but I've seen a few and none have had it.

IMO it looks odd. Would look better centered like a 70 Super Bee or 66 500.

I wonder if 400 4 barrel SE cars could get badges like that.

I've never seen a 71 440 or 383-4 SE with badges either.

Post #11 seems to show the 400 emblem.
Never would have guessed they made them .

Still baffles me why the factory wouldn't have done something like this-

With the engine call out where the Charger R/T is.

Not done in 71. It's a 72 thing.

Excellent info. I really appreciate it. The car will stay the way it is, right or wrong I like the way it looks with the emblems. Well, and the fact I'm not sure I would be able to get them off without wrecking the paint.
