I have a pushbutton 727 big block transmission from a 64 dodge 330, will it hook to my 65 Coronet column shift linkage? Both have dual cables...one for shifting, and one for park. They look like it will hook up, but need someone smarter than me to confirm.

if the tranny came out of a '64 with pushbuttons on the dash you'll have to change the valvebody. a '64 console shifter valve body or a '65 valve body will be needed.

Might be easier to mount a pushbutton shifter in the car and leave the colum alone:glasses10:

I really wanted to use the stock 65 shifter set-up.....I have the pushbutton setup with the cables from the 64. I thought the 65 dual cable set-up would hook up to the 64 cable set-up. quess I will have to move onto plan B

you can change the rooster comb, they are different, but the valve body is cast and machined different between the two. i've been thru this before.

I have a 64 dodge 330 big block and I would like to change to a slip yoke arrangement but retain the push button selector on the dash. I was planning to take a 65 cable operated 727 with slip yoke and use the 64 push button valve body. Would this work?

HEMI-ITIS you run a push button trans behind a big Hp motor, do you run a slip yoke? What combination have you used to set up your transmission? I plan to run a +900Hp motor so I need to get the basic combination right from the get go.

Any advice is welcome

the '65 slip yoke tail housing will fit on the '64 and earlier 727.

If I remember right and I have CRS,the tail shaft, front pump and input shaft have to be changed. But mine started out as a '64 unit so I'm not sure on a '65.I also have a billit front drum,A&A 5 pinion planetaries, hardened input shaft and mostley rollerized. My trans has been in & out so much it should be held in with zues screws!!!
