68' Charger build

Customized my radiator support and started fitting panels. REALLY need to pick my color. I'm all over the place and can't decide. In the process of narrowing the bumper and finishing the linear actuators for the head light doors.

Picking the color is hard, i have to say the body black really looks great with all your chrome to enhance it, the wheels look great! Good luck... :)

Being new to Mopars I sure wish I would have known how tight the radiator to motor clearances would be (mine was missing it all when I got it). I really like what your doing with the radiator mount, hopefully once I get my A/C condenser I can put an electric pusher fan in front instead. Nice work, seeing your car has me chomping at the bit to go lower mine a bit more (looks mean).

Got the bumpers all fitted and sent out. Got the fuel tank and pump mounted. Brake lines all in and " fix" from the wonderful stuff I received. Now for the time consuming process of fitting the gaps. Relying on the brains of this operation for this giant task. Have to make sure this part and the body work are spot on, need to make sure the color I pick looks its best.

great news can be seen in acouple of the pictures. Brought my trans to get rebuild and built up. Got the trans back, looked great. Stored it and brought it out the other day, loaded in the truck and look at what I thought was the casting. IT WASNT CASTING. This great place didn't clean the case at all just spray painted right over it and now you can see its flaking right off. After seeing the outside I was now worried about the inside. Now I took the trans to a new shop a BETTER shop and they ran through it again for me. The inside and components were just as dirty as the outside. Thank god the internals were actually what I was told were inside.

Looking real good, bumpers are looking really nice too. I'd be pissed to about the tranny, what a crock of chit.

Ya its actually sad to say that that kind of stuff happens. Im happy he at least put in the parts he said he did. The outside not being cleaning I could have possibly looked past but that just made me think the inside was just as bad. I guess its always buyer beware unless you can look over people shoulder the whole time to make sure people stay honest.

Its a shame but your right with the way it is now ah-days! Your work looks great and i have to say with or without opinions your car will be a great piece of beauty when its done...

FINALLY found what I was looking for in valve covers. Got ahold of " Jeff Johnson billet fabrication". They had exactly what I wanted. 1/2 in rail, tall cover and tall bolt holes.

Got the gapping all finished. This is my first build of this depth and I honestly NEVER would have though how much money, time and knowledge would be required at this level. Never knew how hard parts would be to find. Another big one was the wake up call of chrome, never knew how much that was to do it properly. Made friends with a gentleman here in town and he was a god send when it comes to this stuff. Not a concours shop but concours quality guy.

Tearing apart the car and getting it on the rotisserie hopefully Monday and start blasting Tuesday weather permitting. I was worried the slope of the stock charger tank would be an issue with the sump but when I tested it, the fluid started pouring out at 4 gallons so that's a big win.

Very nice, love everything your doing so far. I know what your saying about the build, my Charger is the farthest I ever dug into a build as well and boy was it expensive and time consuming. If it makes you feel any better now that mine is pretty well done and I'm enjoying it I don't regret it one bit. A little advice I'm learning right now, insulate your fuel lines anywhere they are close to the exhaust and put something under the carb to help keep it cool. Mine was fine until it started getting into the 90's and now it acts up every one in a while, point is everything I'm doing now would have been easier when it was going together. What a badass Charger your going to have!!!

Strange it is but worth it, Its all part of the fun i think, sometimes it gets to you but, there is always tomorrow i try to look at, Great cars when were done though and doing them ourselves, to me, means a lot! Looking good bud!!!

come on mother nature, your kill'n me!!!!!!

She all dress up and no where to go. So much rain here its not allowing the car to meet the media gun. I wont one week, just one week to get it shot then be able to blow out the remaining crud. Then its for the exciting seal coat and body work. Going to be great to see it clean and in all one color. Is there an NON rain dance?
