While trouble shooting my side marker lamp wiring,
I was forced to destroy a plastic component, of the
bulb socket, in order to expose a hidden faulty pin
connection and must now fix the problem.
As it turns out, my bezel, lens and mounting nut are
original and correct pieces for the 68 Plymouth GTX.
Unfortunately, my front right bulb socket and the attached
wiring, when compared to: my other 3 marker lamps; and
also when compared to the wiring illustrated in this photo,
clearly indicate the wiring harness that I have is 'incorrect'
and in need of replacement.
Before I spend a bomb, replacing the whole side marker
lamp assembly, l wanted to check with forum members
to see if anyone has this old wiring harness, collecting
dust in the shop, less the lens, bezel and mounting nut.
Alternatively, it matters little to me, what condition the
remaining and unneeded parts of your old lamp assembly
might be, should I have to buy the whole works, simply to
score the correct bulb socket assembly and 'solid' wiring
to repair my existing side marker lamp.
Otherwise, I will simply buy new.
As always, your help and comments are appreciated.
