'71 Plymouth Satellite restoration in France

Seeing what you get to work with, make sure the inner rust treatments get put on.

That's it for now, the coachbuilder just got back from holiday
Hope to have more good news at the end of the week ...

Keep at it. I can see why it's taking extra time. You were sold a rust bucket turd with poor previous work done.
Yes, all this s... work has been done in the US before the car was imported by the guy I bought it from ...
I knew there was body work I would fix one day, but I didn't expect that much crap job :BangHead:

I looked at two early Valiant wagons this last Sunday. They were both a couple of turds almost as bad as your car. Needless to say, did not purchase either. Will keep hunting for a driver 63-72 b-body wagon.

I have a container of that too which will get applied after the POR15 goes on.

Coming along well so far. I would be interested to know what the final bill from your coach builder will be. Coach builder sounds like a old-world craftsman putting together a deluxe horse-drawn buggy of sorts. I guess it is...

His shop's tile floor looks better than the one in my kitchen. Jus' sayin'.

Wow,lots of metal work on that one! You have made great progress on the car! The guy looks like he did a thorough job fixing all the bad areas.

Indeed
He did a great work

By the way, something could have changed in a couple of hours ... :praying:

What a difference. What brand of paint products did they use?

All I know is it's a single stage direct gloss paint, 2 coats of epoxy primer, 1 layer of paint and 2 coats of varnish
I'll get to see the car on Monday, I'll ask

Edit: it's in fact two layers of paint

But I forgot to ask about the brand of the paint sorry ...

Looks really nice! I think you had almost the identical rust areas as me, except my roof was pretty solid (just surface rust) and my lower quarters were crap.
