Anyone know why the gear set pricing is all over the place? Looking at r&p sets for an 8-3/4, and at most places (the Summit, Mancini's etc) they range from around $250 to almost $500? And the 'Doctor of Diffs' has them for a shade under $200. It's not like one set is a 'Pro' gear, these are for standard sets at 3.55-4.10 ratios. Now..I realize the current "situation" we're in for parts but a $200+ difference for the same brand and one step in ratio seems crazy.

That’s capitalism! When they aren’t selling at that price, they will come down.

Can you even get a pro gear set for an 8 3/4 these days??

My US Gears from Mancini were $299.99.

No I think that's Dana stuff, just used it as an example.

At one vendor, 4.10s are $250-ish but 3.91s in the same brand, same carrier, same everything over $450!

DrDiff's are MUCH cheaper. That's for the same Richmond/Motive set the other guys are selling, so "I don't think" he's selling an inferior set..
Oh well, whatever. Just seemed like another "well it's for a Mopar, so let's charge double" kinda thing!:BangHead:

Yeah, a 3.90:1 gear (or 3.91:1, depending on whoes gears)
(or even for a 9.25" for my Dakota front & rears for a 3.92:1)
is nearly double the price near $500 of/for a 3.55:1 or even a 4.10:1

some full installation kits have gone ballistic too,
from like $132, not as bad to like $454

IIRC a 3.73:1 is kind of more expensive too now

all listed below are 742 case, pre 69/489
the later 69/later tappered bearing 489 case gears are simular priced too

*3.91:1 is like $432 Richmond
4.10:1 is like $236
4.30:1 is like $234
4.56:1 is like $234
4.86:1 is like $235
3.55:1 is like $235

3.23:1 is like $364 Yukon
*3.90:1 is like $581
*3.73:1 is like $563
*4.11:1 is like $443

4.30:1 is like $236 Motive Gear

*3.90:1 is like $518 USA Standard Gear
etc. etc. etc.

some may be made of 'unobtanium' :poke:

I don't think anyone makes a Pro-gear still,
for a 8.750" MoPar 742 or 489 case
I haven't seen any in a couple years anyway, someone may still make them
