Just noticing there are many for sale, most seem to have engine problems so they are dirt cheap, in the $1000-$2500 range. Is it worth rebuilding/replacing the engine? Your personal views and experience appreciated.
My wife has almost 200,000 miles on her 06 with the hemi. She loves that car.Ditto on the 3.5, great engine. However, any Chrysler product with a 2.7, 3.7 or 4.7 between the fenders should be avoided like the plague. Run away!
I would pull the trigger on a 3.5 in the price range you mentioned, anything else forget it unless it's a hemi.Yes, most of these cheapies have the 2.7, so if I find one with the 3.5 then it should not be as bad? Of course a hemi one will be fine. Of course it all depends on how well it was maintained
Some day I'd like to do a Magnum "with a Hemi" build...
I've noticed the ones with smaller engines
SXT & SE are cheap now...
all of them for the most part are decent priced right now,
the RT & especially the SRT-8 & Hemi's are a bit more
I dig the somewhat retro station wagon style,
a ton of my youth was spent in the back of a station wagon...
check out there's like 30 of them all over the US, from $1200- $10k
some SRT is $29k, he's dreaming
most are in the lower $ ranges & have over 100k miles

I'd like to say it was something betterAnd just why did you spend so much time in the back of a wagon?
I agree....had one with the 3.5 V6...no problems...seems to be a great motor..stay away from the smaller V6's...lots of oil related problems. 3 .5 or hemi are great!Which motor have you been seeing, 2.7-3.5? 3.5 is a pretty good motor 2.7 not so much
Seen plenty of 3.5s out there with well over 200k on themI agree....had one with the 3.5 V6...no problems...seems to be a great motor..stay away from the smaller V6's...lots of oil related problems. 3 .5 or hemi are great!
Thinking the same way, always liked the wagons and think a Magnum would be a cool build. I'd love to see a Charger nose on one. Some day I'd like to do a Magnum "with a Hemi" build...

I think one would be kick *** w/ a 2013 type charger front end on it, w/ a stout big block . On another note, I`ve got a 4.7, 02 ram w/ 164,500 miles on it, never had a problem w/ it , other than front wheel bearing. And they ere the easiest to change I`ve ever done.Thinking the same way, always liked the wagons and think a Magnum would be a cool build. I'd love to see a Charger nose on one.

LIKE THE CHARGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one ! I`d almost bet they will interchange .
They do interchange fairly easily, the 05-09? 300, magnum, and charger can all be interchanged without major modification. I seen an episode of overhauling where foose swappped the Chrysler 300 and magnum front ends. I believe the Australian version of the magnums come standard with the 300 front clipLIKE THE CHARGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one ! I`d almost bet they will interchange .
