E brake cable location

65 coronet. There were no cables on this car when we got it except the front. There are two holes in the rear brackets. Which hole is right or does it not matter? Would like to use top hole to keep away from the exhaust. Anything wrong with that?
 
My 65 uses the lower holes-stock. As long as the cables have frame clearance thru full range of suspension travel I can't see any problem using the uppers.

If you buy 66 or later e cables you can make bracket off trans x member to mount front e cable. Then connect the two. The equalizer bracket is turn in 2nd picture.
