I lived in West Germany for 6 years between 1976 and 1985. Two tours. I remember it fondly and it makes me sick to see what it's become today.

Part of the trouble these days is that while there are more than enough people on the planet, they are not distributed well. Europe is dropping in pop numbers and made the big mistake of allowing the refugees in to bolster it. Bad idea. Third world countries are booming in pop numbers with no way to feed them.
