Your expertise to reconfigure and restore dashes is impressive. Using a 12 pin Molex connector is the preferred option to ensure a solid connector. I conducted an internet search in an effort to locate a connector as shown in your writeup. Do you have source for the connector or a part number, the male and female connectors?
Your comments regarding DC power source from the Run and ACC circuits I assume to referring the ignition switch power source. We would assume the gauges power should be feed from the Run side of the ignition switch. Perhaps your referring the input to the switch.
