Well, I got the Rona!

To everyone suffering or that has lost someone to Covid, my prayers go out to you

Hope you and your wife are feeling better... Just talked with a lady today that we do work for. She is a hair dresser and she said over 1/2 of her clients that are vaccinated have come down with Covid in the past few months which is making scheduling tough...

My daughter is struggling with Covid. Been sick for a couple weeks now. And will be missing holiday celebrations. She is the only family member not vaccinated. For the whimpist reason of them all? Fear of needles. Even as an asthma suffer. I believe she may be past the worse. But we are still keeping a close eye on her condition. She has elected not to seek medical attention. Due to again, fear of needles. I just pray the illness doesn't make the choice for her?

I know we have thrown around the word "Snowflake?" But when it comes to biology? We are all "Snowflakes." Very unique. With very different responses to our surroundings. What is no danger, or even good for you? May kill the person next to you. Or vice-versa.
My best wishes for her. It's a personal decision that must be respected. But, I'll be glad to see you post a note here soon that she's fully recovered and well !!

I had it pretty bad back in January also. 2 straight, horrible weeks of non stop fevers got me 2 ER visits. After that, 2 weeks of extreme fatigue and trouble breathing. I had 2 days of mostly symptom free, before I had to move into my new home. Had to move the entire household items myself, which brought back the breathing difficulties. I got the vaccine, just to hopefully never have to experience that again.

Wait, you're taking corona to work?

It kinda goes everywhere with me.

It’s not going to be a very productive day, but it’s kinda nice to be out of the house.

I hope she gets better real soon. I thought I had it pretty bad until I started hearing other peoples stories. Really puts things into perspective.
And yet your still out spreading it. You feel sorry enough for yourself to start a thread on getting it but even after hearing about others love ones dying from it and wishing you well ,your'e out in public with it, wtf?.

I'm in good health & rarely ever get sick at all

I do remember the hospital,
when after I got it
I think it was when I brought my dad in, close contact with him
I stayed home after for a couple weeks,
as to not spread it
I asked them (hospital) if they wanted to test for anti-bodies etc.
take some plasma etc., because I was fine/felt fine
some 3-4 days later (or earlier)
they said;
it wasn't prudent at the time

IIRC it has a 10 day incubation period
'to be contagious'
& about a 14 day full cycle

some of the stuff lingers on,
worst for me
I spat up some good luggies/lung cheese (phlegm) for a while
a week or so after the 14 days
I had chest congestion for a month after
I had some over the counter phlegm extraction stuff
seemed to work well
(I still have sinus drain issues every morning, right after
I get up & walk around some, I just blow my nose & I'm all good
I never had before I got the Chinese Wuhan Flu C-19 Virus
)
I only had a slight headache the 1st nigh I has symptoms
I had a slight fever & chills too 1st night
by the next AM most all of my symptoms had gone
I just stayed/lounged in bed & drank a lot of OJ & water
did take some over the counter Expectrent D Robitusson, cough meds,
I also had Halls throat lozenges for a few days
for a sore-ish throat, from coughing/hacking up phlegm
I never did lose my sense of taste or smell
I did smell some weird stuff when going outside
I had never smelled before
most of the symptoms were like a 24hr flu
that lasted 48-72 hrs

my dad has lung capacity issues
he went to the hospital, I think that's when I caught it
I took him as a precaution, he had a quadruple bypass & valve change
about 2 years prior
they put him on a nebuliser, he also has COPD
he gets walking pneumonia easily
They sent him home after the treatment, he rested & stayed
in his recliner for about 5 days, watched TV & he milked it a bit,
I know the signs, but he deserves a bit of pampering
he is in his 80s
he kicked it too, he was a type that should have statistically died
but he didn't

all cases are the same

all treatments aren't the same

The best immunity you can have is 'getting over the virus'
the human body is an amazing thing
it's something like 27 times as effective/better than
as any of the vaxx's or current boosters

that's straight from,
my dad's, both the cardio specialist & pulmonary Dr.s
at the hospital

---------------------------------------------------------

I had it really early on back late Dec 2019/Jan 2020
about Dec. 31st-Jan. 1
I got it from my dad, he brought it home from Santa Rosa
where he was at on an RV trip, no one else in his group got it
(IIRC Santa Rosa was the 1st place in Calif that had a case
some lady from a Cruise ship brought it in
)

I've been tested & I still have anti-bodies, 2 years later

I don’t feel sorry for myself at all. Just started this thread because I was laying around doing nothing else, just thought I’d start the conversation. And I’m glad I did, really learning a lot from others.
And who am I spreading it to? I work alone on the roof of an empty building.

On my way to work this morning I stopped for gas. When I got outside my truck I smelled something awful, similar to burnt hair. I then drove another 30 miles to work and when I got out of my truck I smelled it again. I’ve been in and out of a few different machines and when I’m inside I don’t smell it but outside in the fresh air it’s very strong. This is not good because I work outside and it is a horrible smell.

Whatever

There were times when I went to work sick too or just getting over something but I also worked alone back then. There were times when someone would come up close to talk about something or another and I'd warn them before they got too close. Some didn't care and some would stay back. What I didn't like were the ones that didn't care if they were sick and would come to work and wouldn't say anything to anyone. That happened a lot at the plant I hired into many years later.

They had an awards program for making a year for not being off sick....ie perfect attendance and that brought in all kinds of sicko's like that. It's one of the reasons I opted to work the off shift as much as possible since there was a minimum size crew working. Your 'whatever' reply reminds me of my kids saying that word whenever I tried to explain something to one of them. Imo, it's just another word to brush off someone....

Your'e right Cranky I was in a way brushing his response off because it was b.s. and i didn't feel like wasting more of my time on this guy. If someone goes out into public ( even a gas station) with a cold or something minor that stuff happens, hell, we have all certainly done it. Go out into public with the flu and that's bullshit. Go out knowing you have Corona and stopping at places, handling the pump, probably talking to someone is completely saying "Screw everybody" because i don't really feel that bad so you wouldn't either ( may not be the case as we all know). I had the **** twice, stayed home twice, i'm not special, that's what your supposed to do and yeah it sucked. Two years into this and this guy doesn't know to stay home when you got corona, that's kind of unbelievable. If he can't figure that out then nothing i say to him is gonna make him understand so that's where the "whatever" came from.

And yeah, I hate when my kids say "Whatever" , maybe that's why i said it to him, lol.

Lighten up Nancy, you’re just trying to be an *** because I’ve called you out on your bullshit before.

From the C.D.C.;
How long do COVID-19 patients need to stay home?

You can be around others after:
Ten days since symptoms first appeared and
24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving

The guy goes to an isolated workplace 12 days after systems appear, and some here are treating him like Typhoid Mary! (and worse) Please give it a rest already.
Are we licking gas pump nozzles?
I am sorry to anyone that lost a loved one to the flu. R.I.P.
Get well soon @dla4567.
Edit; Get well soon to all.

The wife tested positive, she had a headache yesterday and wanted to sleep, my daughter and I are staying in the basement, glad I got it before 99% sure, before anyone knew about it, Chinese students at the university I used to work at.
I did a home test, negative, daughter is fine, actually driving me insane, even though we have fun **** down here in the basement(new big buck hunter arcade game). I'm duck hunting tomorrow before I get the china flu and duck season is over.
Wife is doing fine, just tired. Glad pheasant is still open after Sunday, guess that's what were doing on quantine if we don't get sick.
