When I bought my 66 Coronet I noticed that when I let on and off the gas I would get a little thump and some rubbing sounds, First time I got it on the lift I noticed I did indeed have some rubbing spots right under the console up near the, u joint it's from the larger portion of the drive shaft.

Well now after romping around on it has gotten worse, it use to only be super noticeable at speed above ~55 now I'm starting to notice it at closer to 40 and its getting louder. I have a feeling I need new U joints etc. The question would be if I'm going to drop the axel a start servicing components what all I should go ahead and replace?

Attached are some videos from under the car and what it sounds like inside.
Thanks in advance.

Check your rubber mount.

Sounds like your trans mount is busted like 5.7 stated...or the bolts have fallen out...

Also check your engine mounts and brackets, if the engine is "sitting" in its perch correctly, if either is loose, or either is bent.

I got it back up on the lift, it looks like the clips on the front U-joint are gone, and so is the rubber boot around the back of bearings. Also, the transmission rubber mount is in good shape and tranny is not loose.

I have been looking for the best U-joints that meet these specs:
Bearing Cap Diameter Axis 1 (in): 1.078
Bearing Cap Diameter Axis 2 (in): 1.078
Length Between Inside Snap Rings Axis 1 (in): 2.125
Length Between Inside Snap Rings Axis 2 (in): 2.125

I'm considering these:

or

or

Lakewood 23010 (i can't find these in stock anywhere)

Any suggestions?
