I chased a 5k rpm miss on my 440 and after replacing everything I could I found 2 rocker arms that were too tight. Adjusted and all is good.

Just a little comment. I see you used cables to shift the trans. I was having trouble with my build using one. So I changed the cable to rods with heim joints. works great with no binding. has been on the car for 5 years with no broblems. Just a thought to pass along to every one.

What air pressures do you run on a drag strip ?

I did some checking and found out the psi at start up cold was 70-75 psi. Drove around for a half hour and it dropped to between 25 & 50 at idle, went to 70 when fever it up. Is that too high at cold start up ??

modified 440, 30 over, new cam, new flat tappit hydraulic lifters. At idle 950 rpm psi is 70. Is this type of engine need this high of psi ? I have an adjustable pressure by pass valve but have not installed it yet. Any ideas ? Thanks Bob

Thanks for the info. I had the total timing set too high. put 1 heavy silver spring and 1 blue, and the black bushing. set the idle at 15 and when i went to wot it went to 33 deg total. I have been chaceing a miss at 5K when I launch at wot. I have done everything that the racers have told to...
