Alternator conversion

i converted the single field 1969 setup to the 70 and later dual field... New alt, regulator and harness.... I'm getting 15.5 volts at idle and 16.2 at 2000 rpm.... What gives....

have someone wiggle the regulator connector while you're watching the volt meter/ gauge. That's where my over charge issue was, poor pin connection in that connector.

Disconnect battery. See if one field wire is shorted to ground.
