Anyone using this carb? How has the experience been? Would you recommend for a 400 engine?

One of the best daily driver carbs I've used , if its a stock 400 then a 650 would do

what did you do about the manual choke opening when you use electric choke? Where do you wire the electric choke to?

I thought that the #1906 carb was the same as a #1905, only with an electric choke. It's 600 cfm, and is not an AVS.
The #1905 doesn't have a choke, I just installed the #1906 electric choke conversion my #1905.
Just asking, which of us is wrong?

What did you do with the hole left from the manual choke?

Here are pictures of my #1405's. One picture is the stock carb, the choke seems to be frozen open, non functional. The other picture shows the same #1405 with the #1478 electric choke kit, they are dual quads on my Hemi. The choke kit replaces the shaft, and levers. Red wire connects to 12 volts through the ign. Do not attach to the coil.
I stand corrected, I guess the #1906 is an AVS. Stand corrected yet again, I just caught that I have #1405 carburetors, not #1905. I have corrected that. Sorry!

Post #6 shows a pic of an AFB carb. The AVS carb has a spring loaded air valve above the secondaries & are rated in 650 or 800 cfm. What have you got?

I have a 400 engine thinking about going with Eldelbrock 1906

Post #6 is a #1405, not an AFB.

The #1905 & 1906 carbs are AVS carbs [ Air Valve Secondary ].

The carb in post #6 is an AFB carb.
