I don't know how "Car Savvy" you are but just be extremely careful when dealing with sellers, especially craiglist and people you don't know.
I know what it's like wanting a car really bad because I've been in that position
a few times myself but it's risky and harder to be objective.
If you can take a friend or two with you to look at the car and get opinions from different folks all the better.
You can always depend on the knowledge base here on the FBBO forum.
