So what brand of oil do you use in you engines? I use the Joe Gibbs DRIVEN HR-2 High Zinc 10W-30 and it seems to be good. What do y'all think? Just some pics of my love to enjoy while we discuss this =P

I can run anything I really want as I'm running a hydraulic roller cam and don't have to worry about how much zinc is in the oil. I do run a good grade 5W30. Mobil 1 has come out with a 0W40 grade for super cars from what I heard

I use the Lucas hot rod classic oil.It claims to have the zinc and all the other essential vitamins

Lucas hot rod oil in 10w30. I also have Valvoline VR1 in 10w30.
I'm getting ready to drain
my final batch 10/30 sae with Lucas zinc break in oil. I'm leaning towards 10w30 VR1...xtra zinc needed?

I saw a test of oils . Lucas was middle of the pack ------??
It may very well be. I can purchase local and am not running high spring pressures with 2 hyd flat tappet cams so I doubt I will have any issues. If I ever build the stroked rb and don't run a roller cam I may opt for a different oil.

I've decided to start making my own oil!
