Heater/Defrost bezel restoration help

hello friends,

I am working on my 68' gtx and the interior is really close to being done. However, the heater/defrost bezel needs some work. I want to repaint the bezel and lettering. Is the lettering supposed to be painted or is it just chrome? What paint do you recommend and where can I buy it? Any other tips you might have for restoring the bezel are welcomed and appreciated! Sorry about the picture quality, I used my phone.

Paint the controls and background plate satin black. Use a fine white paint pen for the raised letters. Buy the stickers for the controls here :
