I seem to have turned the corner and the 65, and now begins the assembly process. Power washed and cleared the underbody, upgraded to 3/8 fuel line, new brake lines, and rebuilt front end, had Firm Feel rebuild the box, and cleaned up and resprayed engine bay . An all Mopar disc brake conversion underway courtesy of Dr. Diff and Napa has begun. I will post some pictures to follow along, as I move forward.

XX1 Light Tan Same Color....Different name?
Mine is UU1 Shell Beige that PPG no longer has in their system. After some investigation my paint supplier found a 60's Chrysler color "Alabaster" that's a perfect match. I'll have to remember your code too just in case it's the same.

It sure looks to be in the same family. The Ditzler code is 22440. The Chrysler number is AAY1T1. In 1965 there is no UU1 code available.

Well the front end pieces are going back in.I cleaned up and finished them back to the way I found them, to what I believe to be original. The brake conversion going well except for one small hiccup. The caliper brackets that I acquired were powder coated, and the problem was it was too thick preventing free caliper movement. A little clean up with the file and things look hunky dory. Also, mocked up the brake hoses to insure no interference and free movement. That all looks to be good. Repeat it all on the other side tomorrow, and move on.

Looking good to me the re assembly is the fun part

Well, due to the fact my glass guy, ( who knows and understands the old cars), is moving out of state at the end of June, I had to focus my attention on the dash and headliner installation. So all parts needing color had to be painted. Lower portion of dash, gloss clear, top of dash in eggshell, to minimize reflection.I will let it setup for a few days before I start to assemble. So this weekend it's headliner installation. I'm using Resto Ricks 5 page headliner instructional guide. I have two of my meticulous car buddies coming over, who offered assistance. Little nervous!

Get your head examined before you embark on a headliner installation. The key is good sound friends that talk you off the ledge, hang in there, and get the job done Right! Very pleased with results!!

Well, still inching forward on the 65. The Glass guy got the windshield in, and wanted to install it. We took care of that yesterday. They took all of a 1/2 hour to install it along with the moldings around it.. Sure is a pleasure watching talented tradesman perform their craft! Shifting Gears,... I decided to change out the color of the body side molding from the plain white vanilla ,to red. The car needed something to give it a little " sizzle", since the guy I bought it from decided to put a red interior changeover into play. White , red, and black were the only colors offered in 65 on the Bell II side molding, so I don't feel I am out of bounds by making the change to red. Makes her POP a little more , and now, looks like it should. Simply a rattle can job! $2.88 on sale at Menards!! Hope anyone who reads this is in agreement with the color change. Feedback is appreciated . Thanks

I know with the '62 whatever the interior color was the accent stripe was the same color.

The red works with that beige. Looks factory.

I'm going to pm you sometime on your headliner source. Mine is the hardboard, resembles a corduroy material that is applied to it. Hard to find and expensive. I'm thinking I'll just go with cloth and bows for now...

I like the red accent stripe and glad its coming along. I can't wait to see it.

Love the color combo! As a printer the red stripe is a beautiful contrast as well as a nice pop.
