Project drive a wagon to Montana in July

What about the deadline this is not looking promising....

The time line is a thing of the past. It was for this weekend and as you'll see from these it is in no shape to drive. Hard to see but the cross member pictured is not straight anymore. Did get my floor patches from rock auto, like the rears, hate the fronts, they don't look good and there is no recess or anything for the gas pedal to bolt down, I think I'm gonna send the fronts back and look at some others. Also the new carbamator, 625 cfm should be more than enough. Apparently the demon is upside down and I done know how to fix it. Hmm...

Not close to drive? WTF, looks ready to me ;)

Nice project. I believe it's the first time I saw this thread, sorry you missed you deadline. I've missed a couple of my own and another one that's coming up. Look forward to seeing your's running and on the road.

God bless parts cars, some must pass so others can survive. Got the stuff needed cut from my belvedere and spent some time with the pressure washer and super clean. Great looking donor parts to get the wagon back together.

is this car going to be drive a car Before Christmas? at this point.

Yeah I hope so. Current also looking for a 4 barrel for a poly 318 that I don't have to give my children for as partial payment. Also debating on cleaning up the engine compartment and relocating the wires and what not so it'll just be a nice orange engine in a silver compartment.

How's the wagon coming along cudas426? I wish I had a wagon, but can't afford the funds or space for one. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Jim

When you said wagon Done by July, Did you mean July 2016???

Any progress?

Another successful weekend in the books. All the rusted solid slant 6 running great is out of the way for the working v8 parts. Should be a roller before the end of the week and back off the lift, that'll make the parents happy. Got the motor pulled apart also. Already cleaned the heads up in the parts washer. Deffinately needs a timing set which was planned anyways and a good cleaning. The piston walls all look quite nice for however many miles are on this thing, only a slight lip at the top, should be fine for awhile. Time for parts so this thing can move on its own by mid June. Enjoy the mess of a shop with too much non car stuff in it.

make sure to measure the bore these wagons where know to have the 326 cid poly

Sadly, wont be this year either, ran out of funds to get it done in time. Got alot done, floors are finished, spare tire well is new, donor passenger frame rail and firewall are in. Decided to change things arundel under the hood so I made more work for myself. Tons of pictures are on my phone now, I'll get them posted in here by the weekend.

The 318 I'm using is actually out of a 64 4 door belvedere and the motor is cleaned and back together already.

Photos of things. Donor floor, firewall, inner fender, frame rail, and cross member welded in place. Sherman Floor patch panels all welded in, great fit, great quality, great price. Made the small pieces inbetween the front and rear patches from flat 18 guage. Picked up a bead roller and had my oldest help me roll the beads in for the spare tire well area. Then decided to make more work and flatten out the engine compartment. Wiring will all be hidden. Going to use and electric assist master cylinder to lose the vacuum brake booster. The battery is being moved to the huge opening in the passenger quarter and the heater box requires some minor modification from losing the slant in the firewall. Either side of the radiator are cans, the right will be radiator overflow while the left side will be for bug fluid, the fill opening is going to be through the core support. Also building a stockish style sheet metal intake to run a 4 barrel on my poly and hide the heater hoses.

Cute kid. You must be young...those flares are actually 'skirts'. Be glad you're not my age...lol. Enjoying your posts. Terrific fabrication and welds. Keep it up!

Skirts yes, brain fart, thanks for the correction. Almost 32. I was born into a love of mopars, just picked up another for the wife.
