I'm going to buy some car skates. I've read RC's post and responses and am narrowing it down to one of these 3 options unless someone suggests a better alternative or would like to PM me with an offer for what they have and don't need.

I would prefer the ratchet style jacks but am trying to keep the cost down.

I appreciate any and all feedback even if you feel then need to tell me I'm doing it wrong ;)

I bought the Larin car Dollies.......$60 bucks a pair at Fleet Farm. Work well for me. Best of luck to you which ever route you go.

Appreciate the tip brother. If you say they worked well that's enough for me on the quality but curious if you had to make sure the wheels were lined up in the right direction or would they spin to proper alignment on their own?

SKATES ??!?? Oh... I thought you meant ice skates... I have a nice pair of Bauer hockey skates I haven't use in some time....

Good one Robby .. no I've never been on ice skates and definitely won't be starting to learn any time soon .. or ever actually :)

The cheap ones can work if you're really careful and your floor is laser clean. You also need to make sure that the casters are orientated to the direction you are pushing the vehicle. I find a hammer works good to direct you casters. Otherwise it's really easy to fold them over. The more expensive ones have better bracing to avoid this.

Well one thing the shop actually HAS going for it is the floor is very straight and smooth

The flip right around on their own Tallhair. Pretty easy to roll around a 3800 lb Mopar in my garage. Better than the wife dealing out door dings with her sherman tank caddy. Forgot to mention, they also have a lock on each dolly.

Just pulled the trigger on the Larin skates Will. Will be here in 4-7 days. Thanks again for the heads up. I had a line on a pair of Go-Jaks for a fair price so I was waiting on that but never heard back from the CL seller. I'm feeling like I've pressed my luck on moving the car with my floor jack enough times LOL and really looking forward to getting these.

Cool beans! I'm sure you'll like them. Pretty beefy and roll well. Let me know how they pan out for you.

Will do ! I can't wait to put the wheels on them and get them in the car and test them out. btw I share the Fleet Farm site with some friends at work already and they were really happy after checking out that site. Thanks again

I got the skates yesterday and they are pretty sturdy and a nice set Will. I put two together with hand tools and put them on the car last night and the back end rolls fairly easily by just my own effort. I'll post a few pics when i put the next set together. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Well I got the other two skates put together and on the car .. last two with the aid of "big blue" the AC and the last two were much easier and quicker than the first two. The skates on the front end don't roll quite as easily, esp before I sprayed some WD40 on the bearings. Now they roll with some pretty strong effort but they roll. Of course there's a LOT more weight in the front so that's what I'm figuring. i'm sure it'll get easier and maybe I could get the floor cleaner. Anyway it's pretty much a one man effort nowand w/o the aid of the floor jack.

Like I said they are pretty HD and have two wheel locks per skate (notice the diff between the front and back LOL)

Thanks for everyone's input and advice !!
