A friend of a friend has a rallye cluster with tach wants to sell for a 71-74 B. WIW and has anyone had a cluster like this restored?

Thanks.

$350.00 - $450.00 if there are no cracks and the radio area hasn't been cut out.

which year is it?
71 has a different wiper switch cut out
that will fit the 71 only 2 and 3 speed wiper switch...

anywhere between $60 and $600

The closer to $60 the better for me ( I have half a dozen bought under $100), and the $600 one better be complete, perfect, and 100% working.

Damn they've come down on prices. I've sold about three of them about 2 years ago ranging from $350.00-$450.00 and that's w/o light switch, wiper switch and heater control. No cracks, no cut bezel and in good shape.

Radio hasn't been cut out. Cluster looks really good actually and even the clear plastic looks great

It's a '71(?) but will confirm when I ask him. My main interest is primarily that it has a tach. Everything else is good

Just an FYI mine didn't have the tachs with the prices I got.

Wasn't able to call like Instrument Specialties but anyone have a ball park figure what it would cost to have the gauges gone through? Like I said, all the gauges looks good but I'd feel more confident if the gauges was looked at, calibrated, lubed, etc. I'm leaning towards getting it if the "price is right"

Repro tachs are $350-400 and may have "issues".

Does yours work?

"Clock" cluster is the same as "tach" cluster except for clock/tach.

My cluster doesn't have the tach and or clock. That's the reason I'm leaning towards getting this because of the tach in it

Therefore- if the tach works correctly, the cluster is worth quite a bit more.

As far I can tell that's not true... even wiper switch is diff, the opening remains the same...
Long time I dissasembled the 71 cluster I got, but I could fit either switch on it... 71 or 72/74.

Maybe if some diff could be JUST the small notch for the wiper switch key ? ( easy to make )

like has being said... if you get a working condition tach on cluster... could be on US$600 rate

The same with clock... maybe on $450 rate

Basic Rallye cluster on $300 rate

These are the last prices I have being watching... 5 years ago were cheaper. I got mine with clock in $200 around 7-8 years ago.

if tach doesn't work but you want to rebuilt the original one, is still nice try to get it. But if you are toward to get a repro one, find one with clock and forget the tach one. Repro tachs are on $250 rate, but they are 8 rpms, not 7k like originals.

150 ( 71 to mids 73 ) or 120 ( mids 73 and 74s ) speedo also makes difference on price, same as, of course, bezel conditions. 74 speedos got blue lenses for high beams pilot light. Earliers got horizonal notch for it... laters a vertical notch

AAAND knobs... which are harder and expensive to find, than the switches itself

if you want to change your one and don't close a deal with that guy, you can also try to get any other on ebay used, with untouched housing, all small gauges ( gas/oil, temp and ammeter ), and the lenses mask, and built your own cluster with your speedo, bezel and a repro tach

The housings are different from a tach/clock to one that has neither, right? I think you can modify the back to make a tach/clock work.

Here are the pictures I received from the guy.
