12 CAR FEATURES YOU HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 40 TO REMEMBER

Thanks for making me feel real old RC. I can remember long before some of this stuff was available.

Vacuum wipers (that might be going back too far)
Chokes
Three on the tree
Ash trays and cigarette lighters
Bias ply tires
Manual door and trunk locks

To add to the list:

- My '70 Duster 340 had a rubber bulb on the floor you pushed with your foot to get the windshield washer to squirt fluid.
- A couple older trucks on the farm had a foot activated push button on the floor to engage the starter.
- Prior to '68(?) most cars did not have 'hazard lights'. (My '66 doesn't have them).

I like the ford washer bag.
Had several cars with these.:) They were fun to tell people about.

I also had one of these in my 57 300C

Car seat with steering wheel. I loved it back then. More like an ejection seat. I remember my Dad planting his foot onthe brakes on Chew street between 4th and 5th and ending up under the dash on the floor of the 50 Hudson. He said, "what the hell are you doing down there - get up!

Lol! Our Dads must have went to the same 'school of thought's!

I remember laying in the rear window on the package tray, and it seemed like laying on a picnic table. This was while the car was moving of course...

My dad's got a '50 dodge B2 pickup with the floor starter. You also have to double clutch every shift. Tuff old truck though.

My 68 RR has all but 5 of them...

I remember them all, but I'm 57 so I should...

I know it's a Mopar site , but I remember the late 50's and early 60's Chevs with the old ignition switches that did not require the key. And I don't mean like today's Proximity key.

Hood release behind the grill
Curb feelers
Generator instead of an alternator
Battery with threaded caps
6V battery
Positive ground instead of negative
Adjustable voltage regulator
Exterior windshield visor
Absence of side marker lights
Metal car dash

I'm 29 now and I knew about everything on that list since I was 14-15
